Transit-for-All

This freedom expansion statement could be moved as a resolution by party precinct representatives in every organized county party in Senate District 17, either Democratic or Republican.

During 2012 Election Season

Call all candidates for public office in all parties and ask if they will support transit-for-all in one or all of the following ways. Ask them to go on record supporting transit-for-all. Post positive and encouraging messages on their Facebook pages encouraging them to support transit for all.

Call both of your elected precinct party representatives and ask each one if they will use this language AND move a county party resolution that adopts this language when talking about expanding transit-for-all. Call your local board of elections to find out your elected precinct representatives in both parties.

The Values of Transit-for-All Based on Empathy and Responsibility, Both Personal and Social

As we strengthen public transportation, we strengthen the freedom of equal access for all Americans to opportunities that make Americans stronger and our futures better. Strengthening alternative transportation investments for the common good can be done by ending subsidies ($70 billion) from our common wealth to bully oil corporations by their bully enablers inside public government. Our freedom expands as we diversify our transportation.

Transit-for-all means expanding public transportation at all levels of society. Imagine clean and efficient bus and light rail service in urban areas linking residential areas, markets and airports and train depots. Imagine safe bike lanes in cities, towns and villages. Imagine state-of-the-art high speed rail connecting major cities.

A Moral Economy

Linked with an ethical business measurement tool like the GPI, genuine progress indicator, transit-for-all broadens prosperity by revitalizing neighborhoods and moving goods and people to where they need to be.

Sustainable Work

Transit-for-all strengthens America by providing living wage jobs – construction, engineers, bus drivers, rail operators, vendors, administrators. Many of these jobs are sustainable union jobs, allowing unions all over America negotiate better contracts and broaden prosperity.

Cleaner Environment

The relationship between carbon fuels and the pollution of the air we breathe, as well as, our dependence on these fuels, is well understood. Mass transit-for-all reduces  our dependence on oil and helps address our climate crisis of global warming.

Preventive Public Health

Transit-for-all expands our freedom to promote health and well-being by focusing on preventive public healthcare, i.e. rescuing millions of Americans from the debilitating health problems and even death caused by the pollution of the automobile. Transit-for-all strengthens our freedom from fear of bully corporations and their bully enablers inside public government, who benefit from the sickness and death of millions of Americans each year caused by six million auto accidents per year. These bully corporations and their bully enablers inside public government (1) deny the preventive public health care of transit for all, (2) cause suffering, (3) cause financial ruin, and (4) cause death.

Stronger America

Transit-for-all is part of a national intervention plan for kicking the oil habit, which has led to our national insecurity. Oil is America’s kryptonite, and makes us weak. Transit-for-all makes America stronger, by reducing the need for military expenditures to protect the regions where oil resides.
